Elmira, NY- After going 0-2-0-1 in their past three games the Elmira Jackals look to get back on the winning track this weekend when they continue their four games in five night schedule. On Friday evening the Reading Royals are in town for the fourth match up of the season. On Saturday the Jackals host the Trenton Devils before heading to Reading to finish off the home and home.
JACKALS VS ROYALS- Friday, December 5th 7:35 p.m.- First Arena
Past 10- Wednesday evening the Jackals suffered their worst loss of the season falling to the top team in the ECHL, Florida, 7-2 at First Arena. The Jackals have been winless in their past three and 4-4-0-2 in their past 10. The Royals come into town after a 2-1 loss against Johnstown on Wednesday in Reading. The Royals have gone 2-7-0-1 in their past ten.
Season Series- This is the fourth match up this season between the Jackals and Royals. The Jackals hold the season series lead at 2-0-0-1 and have faired well at home against the Royals in lifetime series at 5-1-0-1. Reading is a struggling hockey club as of late, placing 22nd overall in the ECHL. The Jackals occupy the 13th spot in the league, 7th in the American Conference and 5th in the North Division. Reading sits in last place in the American Conference and North
Division.
Power Housed- The last time these two clubs matched up the Jackals power housed their way to a 5-1 win in Reading. The Royals last win against the Jackals was on November 11th when they edged Elmira 3-2 in a shootout. The Jackals season opened with a 5-2 win over Reading at First Arena on October 17th.
Head to Head- Head to head the Jackals are lead by Tyler Donati who has racked up six points against the Royals. Aspenlind has contributed four points to the cause, Yetman, Gutierrez and Doucet have all added three points in the season long series. When playing the Jackals, the Royals are led by Brock Hooton with two points, Curly, Lukacevic and nine others have all added a point to their season total.
Between the Pipes- On the goaltending side of things you can expect to see Mitch O'Keefe back between the pipes for the Jackals. O'Keefe has compiled a 7-4-0-1 record with a 3.09 goals against average and a .889 save percentage on the season. The Jackals are still using emergency back up Eddie Neville. The Royals goaltending staff is led by Danny Taylor who has compiled a 3-13-0-1 record with a .896 save percentage and a 3.51 goals against average. Bryan Bridges has put up an 0-1-0-1 record with a .863 save percentage and a 4.01 goals against in three games played for Reading.

NEXT UP: After tomorrow nights game, the Jackals continue their four games in five nights schedule when they host the Trenton Devils on Saturday evening for the fourth match up of the season. The first 1,500 fans through the First Arena doors will receive a Jackals Christmas CD, bring your teddy bears and toss them onto the ice after the Jackals score their first goal. Face off is set for 7:35 p.m. The busy week ends on Sunday with a trip to Reading to take on the Royals at 5:05 p.m.
