Lamoureux Named ECHL Rookie of the Month

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Jean-Philippe Lamoureux has been honored as CCM Vector ECHL Rookie of the Month for November.

Lamoureux finished November 8-2-1 despite losses in his last two starts and completed the month with a 1.90 goals against average and .936 save percentage. He allowed one goal or less in six straight starts between November 2-15, beginning with a 22-save shutout of Fresno.

A Hobey Baker Award finalist and the Most Oustanding Player at the Midwest Regional in 2008, the 24-year-old Lamoureux led the University of North Dakota to the Frozen Four and finished the season with a school-record .932 save percentage. He also won the WCHA goaltending title with a 1.74 GAA and finished his collegiate career second all-time in Fighting Sioux history in GAA (2.14) and save percentage (.920).

A native of Grand Forks, N.D., Lamoureux started 55 games in a row between his junior and senior seasons, the third-longest streak in NCAA history. His record over those two years was 48-23-8, and North Dakota reached the Frozen Four each time, with Lamoureux earning all-tournament honors at the WCHA Final Five and the West Regional as a junior.
