Altoona Curve News Release
CURVE, Pa. - The first-place Altoona Curve returns back to Curve, PA to face off with the top two teams in the Eastern League Eastern Division during its six-game homestand with three games against the Trenton Thunder (AA - New York Yankees) and three with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (AA - Toronto Blue Jays). Altoona's six-game homestand features three different fireworks shows, a Wacky Wednesday and an appearance by the King of Nerds, Myron Noodleman on Saturday.
It all begins on Tuesday at 7 p.m. when the Curve opens its series with the Thunder with a postgame fireworks show presented by Bellwood/Hollidaysburg/Philipsburg Hometown Markets. Tuesday night is also a Two-for-Tuesday presented by Atlantic Broadband and KRAFT Singles where fans can get two-for-one deals on tickets, hot dogs and small popcorns during the game.
Wednesday night means it's time for another Wacky Wednesday at Blair County Ballpark and this Wednesday the Curve will be hosting Sponsors in Wonderland. Everything you can think of from the baselines (Allegheny Healthcare Staffing) to the video board (Park Audio/Video) will be sponsored during the 7 p.m. game. At the time of this release, the infield dirt is still available for sponsorship.
The series with Trenton will wrap up on a Thirsty Thursday and a Weis Buy Thursday. Fans can bring their Weis Preferred Shoppers' Card to the box office to receive $2 off Grandstand tickets to the 7 p.m. game with the Thunder. During the game, fans can purchase $2 Miller Lite 16 oz. drafts and $1.50 small sodas during Thirsty Thursday.
New Hampshire rolls into town on Friday at 7 p.m. with a terrific, post-game fireworks show. Former Pittsburgh Pirates lefty Jim Rooker will be in attendance on Friday night at BCB to throw out a ceremonial first pitch. Rooker will also bring copies of his baseball-themed children's books that will be available for purchase and signing during the game. Postgame, kids can run the bases.
The King of Nerds Myron Noodleman will bring his fun-loving persona to Blair County Ballpark for Saturday night's 7 p.m. game. Saturday is also the final Scout Night Sleepover of the 2010 season and it's also a Community Collection Day at the ballpark. Fans are encouraged to bring art supplies to donate to local Blair County Libraries as they enter the park. Kids can run the bases after the game.
Sunday Night Fireworks presented by Fun Central follow the 6 p.m. Sunday night game with the Fisher Cats. Prior to the game fans can play catch in the outfield from 5-5:30 p.m. and kids can run the bases after the game.
