New Britain Rock Cats News Release

NEW BRITAIN, CT - The New Britain Rock Cats of the Eastern League made two roster moves today.

They are:

1B Erik Lis, the 26-year-old left-handed slugger out of the University of Evansville, has been promoted to Rochester in the International League. Today's action returns the six year pro to the Triple-A classification where he began the 2010 Season, appearing in 27 games for the Red Wings before his reassignment to New Britain in May. A 9th Round pick of the Minnesota Twins in 2005, the 6'1"/220-pound Lis quickly provided leadership to a young New Britain clubhouse; he appeared in 76 games for the 2010 Rock Cats, belted long HRs in each of his final two games this past weekend, and departs the Hardware City with 12 Doubles, 10 HRs, 48 RBI, and a .233 BA. A solid hitter, Lis owns a .280 career MiLB Batting Average;

OF Evan Bigley, a 23-year-old native of Combine, TX, has been promoted to New Britain from Ft. Myers in the Single-A, Florida State League. The 6'1"/200-pound product of Dallas Baptist University was selected by Minnesota in the 10th Round of the 2008 Draft. Now in his third year of pro ball, the right-handed hitting Bigley joins the Rock Cats after appearing in 97 games for the 2010 Miracle where he collected 98 Hits, including a team-leading 24 Doubles, 1 Triple, 2 HRs and 28 RBI.

Both moves are effective immediately. Bigley will be in a New Britain uniform tomorrow evening when the Rock Cats visit the Erie (PA) SeaWolves at 7:05 PM.
