
Three FC Dallas Players Called into National Team Duty

Frisco, Texas - FC Dallas midfielders Bryan Acosta (Honduras) and Carlos Gruezo (Ecuador) have been called up to their respective countries for international friendlies leading up to the Gold Cup and Copa América tournaments. FC Dallas midfielder Pablo Aránguiz has been called up to represent Chile U-23 team in the Maurice Revello tournament in Toulon, France.
Aránguiz is with the Chilean U-23 squad in France, while Acosta and Gruezo will leave on Sunday, June 2 after the match against Seattle Sounders FC.
Acosta, 25, has 34 appearances under Los Catrachos and recently appeared in the scoreless draw against Ecuador on March 27. Acosta has played in nine matches for FC Dallas this season, scoring his first MLS goal on against LA Galaxy on March 9 and the game-winning goal against Atlanta United on April 20.
Honduras will have international friendlies against Paraguay (June 5) and Brazil (June 9) before facing Jamaica (June 17), Curacao (June 21) and El Salvador (June 25) in Group C for the 2019 Gold Cup running from June 15 to July 7. Acosta was announced on the Gold Cup preliminary roster for Honduras on May 20.
Gruezo, 24, has 23 appearances with the Ecuadorian National Team and was recently called up in March where he appeared in both matches against the United States and Honduras. The defensive midfielder has scored one goal in his eight starts for FC Dallas this season, scoring the third fastest goal in franchise history in only 45 seconds. He was named to MLS Team of the Week, presented by Audi, for Week Two following his performance in the 2-0 win against LA Galaxy on March 9.
Gruezo and La Tri will play matches against the Venezuela (June 1) and Mexico (June 9) in preparation for the Copa América tournament, running from June 14 to July 7, where they will face off against Uruguay (June 16), Chile (June 21) and Japan (June 24) in the group stage.
Aránguiz, 22, earns his first Chilean U-23 call-up, last appearing in three international friendlies for the U-20 team in 2016. He has appeared in 19 matches for FC Dallas since joining last July from Union Española.
La Roja's U-23 team will participate in Group A of the Maurice Revello tournament, held from June 1 to June 15, and will play matches against Portugal (June 1), Japan (June 4) and England (June 7).
