Thompson Flirts with Shutout in Win

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Jake Thompson (10-9) came an out away from a complete game shutout before exiting the game in a 2-1 win for the Biscuits (58-56, 21-23) over the Chattanooga Lookouts (49-63, 14-28) Monday night at Riverwalk Stadium. The win matches the Biscuits' season-high four-game win streak.

Thompson cruised through eight inning without allowing a runner past second base. In the ninth inning with the Biscuits leading 2-0, the righty got two quick outs before allowing a double to Jon Garcia. Braulio Lara came into the game and allowed an RBI-single to Joc Pederson to put the Lookouts on the board. Thompson finished his day allowing five hits with five strikeouts and no walks for the win.

Juan Sandoval (17) then entered the game and got Brian Cavazos-Galvez to fly out to end the game. It was the seventeenth save of the year for Sandoval.

Todd Glaesmann led the second inning off with a triple. Curt Casali followed with a groundout to score Glaesmann - Casali's eighth RBI of the series - to make it a 1-0 game. Cameron Seitzer hit a solo shot in the fourth inning to make it 2-0 Biscuits.

The series-finale is Tuesday night at 7:05. LHP Enny Romero will be on the hill for the Biscuits while the Lookouts will send RHP Ross Stripling to the mound.
