Mobile, Ala - The Seattle Mariners made the following roster moves today that affects the Jackson Generals roster.

- OF James Jones has placed on the 7-day disabled list with a strained left triceps muscle (retroactive to August 2)

- OF Denny Almonte has been activated from the disabled list

JONES, 24, has been placed on the disabled list, retroactive to Friday, August 2nd. Jones injured his left triceps muscle in Jackson's game on Thursday night against Huntsville. Jones was batting .276 (97x351) with six home runs, 13 doubles, 10 triples and 45 RBIs. He also has 26 stolen bases on the season. Jones ranks 1st in the league in triples and ranks T-5th in stolen bases. Jones leads the team in hits, triples, steals and RBIs. He was a 2013 Southern League All-Star. Jones was Seattle's 4th round draft choice in 2009 out of Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY.

ALMONTE, 24, was placed on the disabled list last Thursday. Almonte is batting .172 (29x169) in 48 games this season with 4 home runs, 9 doubles, 1 triple and 16 RBIs. Almonte began the season with Triple-A Tacoma and was transferred to Jackson on May 23rd. Almonte was the Mariners'2nd round draft choice in 2007 out of Florida Christian High School in Miami, FL.

Jackson's roster currently is at 25 players, with 4 on the disabled list.
