McGough Returns to Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE - The Miami Marlins announced a series of transactions that impacts their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Suns roster prior to tonight's contest with the Tennessee Smokies at Bragan Field.

Right-handed reliever Scott McGough has been transferred to Jacksonville from Triple-A New Orleans. In two games, including one start with the Zephyrs, McGough has compiled an 0-1 record and 5.06 ERA (3 ER in 5.1 IP). The 23-year-old has recorded a 4-0 mark and 2.54 ERA (14 ER in 49.2 IP) in 29 relief appearances with Jacksonville and was honored as a Southern League Mid-Season All-Star.

In addition, the Marlins announced right-hander Sam Dyson has been reinstated from the seven-day Disabled List and has had his option transferred from Jacksonville to Triple-A New Orleans. Prior to going on the Disabled List with a lower back strain on July 7, the 25-year-old accumulated a 3-7 record and 2.63 ERA (22 ER in 75.1 IP) in 16 games (15 starts) for the Suns.
