Niagara IceDogs News Release
The Niagara IceDogs won their third straight game, beating the North Bay Battalion Saturday night at the Meridian Centre.
An early power play goal by Anthony DiFruscia gave the IceDogs a 1-0 lead. Ryan Mantha beat Battalion goaltender Jake Smith with a shot from the point at 11:10, before Miles Liberati scored to make it 2-1. The IceDogs responded to Liberati's goal just over a minute later, as Graham Knott restored the two-goal lead.
Ryan Kujawinski made it 3-2 before Carter Verhaeghe made a beautiful play to set-up Knott for his second of the game at 11:49 of the middle frame.
Jordan Maletta scored his 19th goal of the season at 14:53 of the third period and that would be enough as they IceDogs topped the Battalion 5-2.
Brent Moran made 21 saves in goal for the IceDogs.
They're back at it Tuesday night as they travel to Sudbury to take on the Wolves.
