Regina Pats News Release

Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats dropped their second straight contest on Wednesday, falling 4-1 to the Prince Albert Raiders despite a late comeback inside the Brandt Centre.

The Pats trailed 2-0 through 40 minutes of action following a first period goal from Sloan Stanick and a second period marker from Cole Peardon. Corbin Vaughan would get the Pats on the board early in the third period with his third of the season, as the Pats began the third period with a lot of energy.

The Pats continued to pressure in the third, getting lots of opportunities on the power play, outshooting the Raiders 10-6 in the period. Regina almost cashed in as they had what looked like their tying goal waved off midway through the frame.

Niall Crocker's late third period power play goal put the Raiders up by two again, while Krzysztof Macias' empty netter sealed it for the Raiders who improve to 9-6-1 on the season. The Pats fall to 8-7-1 on the young season.

THEY SAID IT

"That was a rough one. Right from the beginning, it just didn't seem like we had the energy that we needed to have. In the third period we were better, but it was too little too late. We needed that energy [in the third period] right from puck drop. We need to work harder, and we created more opportunities when we did. We have to have that for 60 minutes and tonight we just didn't have that." - Regina Pats Assistant Coach Ken Schneider

FINAL SCORE: Raiders 4, Pats 1
