
Things Will Get Wild During April 27 Home Stand with Lexington Legends

WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK (Lexington, KY) - The Lexington Legends will have a variety of promotions sure to intrigue fans of all ages when the West Virginia Power come to Whitaker Bank Ballpark for a three-game series. Not only will the Legends pay homage to a local family feud, but also introduce new wildlife to Whitaker Bank Ballpark.
"We always love when West Virginia comes to Lexington because of the fun we have with the Hatfield and McCoy jerseys and night. With that, and the Salato Wildlife Education Center bringing animals to our Saturday game, it's sure to be a fun weekend at Whitaker Bank Ballpark," said Legends President/CEO Andy Shea.
Waffle House will be offering a Waffle & Hash brown Bar at every game this weekend! Fans will be able build-your-own waffle or hash brown bowl. Waffles are $1.50 for small, $3 for large and hash brown bowls are $5 for small and $7 for large. It will be located on the main concourse to the left of the Kentucky Ale Taproom entrance and is cash only
Friday, April 27 at 7:05 p.m. vs. West Virginia Power: The Legends kick off the home stand by honoring a family feud that has spanned decades and state lines. The visiting West Virginia Power will don Hatfield jerseys and the Legends will wear McCoy threads as they battle it out on the field for the Hatfield vs. McCoy Pig Trophy. The Hatfield and McCoy families were local to Kentucky and West Virginia and feuded for years, causing battles and even legal action.
Saturday, April 28 at 6:35 p.m. vs. West Virginia Power: The Salato Wildlife Education Center will be on hand during the game with a display featuring some of the animals from their site! They will have owls, turtles, snakes and more for fans to interact and learn more about. Also, any student that participated in the Legends' Hit the Books Reading Program can redeem their bookmark for two free box seats at the Whitaker Bank Ballpark Box Office. It will also be the second night of the Hatfield and McCoy rivalry presented by Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife.
Sunday, April 29 at 2:05 p.m. vs. West Virginia Power: Every Sunday, children 12 and under will get in for FREE thanks to JIF! The gates will also open 30-minutes early (12:30 p.m.) for Playtime on the Outfield. Kids and their families can play a game of catch on the same field as the professional ball players. Before the game, there will also be a kids only autograph session with the Legends players. Children who are a part of the JIF Kids Club will have a pre-game welcome back parade around the field before first pitch. After the final out, kids will be welcomed on the field to run the bases.
