
Crawdads Fall in First Game, Second Game Postponed

Hickory Crawdads News Release
Hickory, NC- The Hickory Crawdads lost game 1 of a doubleheader on Thursday to the Greensboro Grasshoppers 8-5. The second game was postponed due to weather.
Crawdads starting pitcher Alex Eubanks lasted 4 1/3 innings, allowing 7 earned runs on 10 hits. Righty Demarcus Evans pitched the final 2 2/3 innings of the shortened 7 inning game, allowing his first earned run of the season.
The 'Dads first run of the game came in the fifth inning on a double by left fielder Eric Jenkins to score shortstop Yonny Hernandez. Designated hitter Yohel Pozo followed up with a three-run homer to left.
The Crawdads final run of the game came on a sacrifice fly to right field that scored Jenkins in the bottom of the seventh.
The makeup date for the postponed second game is to be determined.
The Crawdads kick off a three game series against the Delmarva Shorebirds tomorrow night. The game will be the Battle of the PTOs, US Air Force Night, and will be capped off with a fireworks show.
