The Time Has Come for Amarillo to "Bring the Ruckus"

AMARILLO, Texas - The Sod Poodles begin their first-ever 2019 Texas League Playoff campaign with the first two games of the five-game South Division Championship series hosted at HODGETOWN on Wednesday, September 4 and Thursday, September 5. The games on Wednesday and Thursday are scheduled for 7:05 p.m. with gates opening at 6:00 p.m. A South division opponent has not been decided yet.
During the first two games of the series, the Sod Poodles will be featuring a "Blue Out" and "Red Out" theme and encourage all fans to join in on "Bringing The RUCKUS" and support their hometown team in the battle of the South Division.
"We have the best fans in the Texas League, and we know Amarillo will be ALL IN during our first-ever hunt for a Texas League Championship!" said Sod Poodles President and General Manager Tony Ensor. "All season long, our fan support has lifted this team up and, in some cases, has made the near-impossible happen on the field. Let's finish what we started, Amarillo. Let's bring home Amarillo's first Texas League title in 43 years! IT'S TIME TO BRING THE RUCKUS!"
On Wednesday, September 4, the team will host a "Blue Out" Night. Upon entry, all fans in attendance will be given a collectible blue rally towel presented by Amarillo National Bank and all fans are encouraged to participate by coming to HODGETOWN wearing blue-colored Sod Poodles clothing and merchandise. Additionally, the team will be offering Weiner Wednesday with $1 hot dogs at concession stands throughout the game.
On Thursday, September 5, the team will host a "Red Out" Night. Upon entry, all fans in attendance will be given a collectible red rally towel presented by Happy State Bank and all fans are encouraged to participate by coming to HODGETOWN wearing red-colored Sod Poodles clothing and merchandise. The game also features Thirsty Thursday where fans will be able to purchase $2 fountain sodas and domestic beers ($3 imported beers) around the ballpark.
If Amarillo clinches the second half, and if necessary, on Sunday, September 8, the Sod Poodles will host game five of the South division series, which will be scheduled to start at 6:05 p.m. (5:00 p.m. gates open).
The winner of the five-game division series will advance to the Texas League Championship Series to play against the North Division Champion (Arkansas Travelers or Tulsa Drillers). The first two games of the five-game Championship Series will be played at the home of the South Champion on Tuesday, September 10 and Wednesday, September 11. The remainder of the series will be played at the home of the North Champion.
