OHL Ottawa 67's

The Sting get stung

January 27, 2012 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Ottawa 67's News Release

Whoa! That looked a little dicey for a minute...but the boys prevailed! A tough first period with a lot of chirping, but no scoring. Then we came out tough in the second with Fielding firing one and Toffoli snapping another into the cage. But, World Junior alum Ryan Spooner cut our lead in half sneaking one past Mrazek just before the second ended. (And now the chirping was getting louder) Ceci found the sweat spot and gave us a two goal lead again in the third. Then, that other World Junior alum, Yakupov, in his first game back since injuring his knee in the tournament, snapped one and we had a tight game again! Man, now I was getting chirpy! Thankfully Prince saw my blood pressure rising and he made a beautiful goal look easy. With an empty netter from Cazzola our boys send the bees back to their hive with a 5-2 loss.

In the stands it was CRAZY! Cameron Hughes "Superfan" was in the house and he got everyone on their feet cheering and screaming. I don't know where he gets the energy! It was great to have him here and boy oh boy, am I ever glad he's on our side!

In the first intermission we played the best game! The Pro Physio Saucer Race! Thankfully, no injuries, but if you have any definitely go see the guys at Pro Physio and Sports Medicine Centres. They have more than 22 clinics in Ottawa and they're ready to fix you when you need them.

During the second intermission we had a mini team, the Cumberland Red Rockets. They played hard, left it all out on the ice, and my two new best friends, Kaden and Owen, both agree that Logan Couture is gonna win it all this All Star Weekend.

Hey, did anyone else see what Logan tweeted about all the ribbing he was getting for being picked last at the Fantasy Draft last night? @Logancouture "Who went last? I missed the end of the draft" That guy is funny!

And speaking of Alum...I would be remiss if I didn't mention our other fabulous Alumni player Brian Campbell! Brian was last in a 67's uniform for the 1999 Memorial Cup Win! Did you know that after he and the team won the cup they all did a cannonball into the Rideau Canal! I mean it was spring, but...wow! I bet that was REALLY cold!

So that's what you missed at the game tonight....Jealous? ;p~ I bet you'll make sure you're at the next one!
