Pearson Named Assistant Captain for Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game

Barrie, ON- The Barrie Colts are proud to announce today that forward Tanner Pearson has been named an assistant captain for the Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.

The Canadian Hockey League announced on Thursday the captains for Team Orr and Team Cherry. Colton Sissons of the Kelowna Rockets will captain Team Orr with Mikhail Grigorenko and Pearson being named assistants.

Team Cherry will have Ryan Murray of the Everett Silvertips as their captain, with Brendan Gaunce and Martin Frk as assistants.

Pearson is second in OHL scoring with 28 goals and 43 assists for 71 points in 38 games played.

The 19 year-old forward represented Team Canada at the World Juniors and played for Team OHL in both legs of the Subway Super Series.

The Kitchener native has not been drafted to the NHL and currently ranks 22nd among North American forwards in the NHL Central Scouting's Midterm rankings for the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

The Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game takes place in Kelowna, B.C. on February 1st.
