Erie Otters News Release
Sault Ste. Marie, ON - Nick Cousins scored twice for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds and the Erie Otters lost on the road Friday night, 3-1.
Shots were even at eight in a tightly played first period that saw the Greyhounds score first. David Quesnele scored his seventh of the season to make it 1-0 for the Greyhounds after 20 minutes.
Cousins scored 49 seconds into the second to double the Sault Ste. Marie lead, but the Otters were able to get on the board late in the second period.
Mitch Eisenberg put in his own rebound from on top of the crease through the blocker side of Jack Campbell for his second goal of the season at 17:08, putting the Otters within one going into the second intermission. Each team had 13 shots in the second period.
The Otters had plenty of opportunities to tie the game in the third, but Campbell shut the door. Cousins scored with just over a minute remaining to seal the win for the Greyhounds.
The Otters complete their Northern Ontario swing Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. against the Sudbury Wolves. Fans can listen to all the action on Fox Sports Radio AM 1330 The Fan.
