The Spirit Continue Road Game Win Streak

The Saginaw Spirit took on the Kitchener Rangers on Friday night, winning on the road 6 - 3.

The opening period had a lot of twists and turns between the Spirit and the Rangers; however the Rangers were able to advance first on a goal by Eric Ming, his 10th of the season, with assists coming from Domenic Alberga and Owen Stewart. The first frame ended Kitchener 1 - Saginaw 0.

The Spirit came out with a solid effort in the second period, scoring four goals. The first Spirit goal was a short-handed shot from their own blue line, from Jason Shaw, his 2nd of the season, which was unassisted. Dylan Sadowy deflected another goal, his 2nd of the season, assisted by Brandon Prophet and Gregg Sutch. Nathan Glass continued the scoring and produced his first Spirit goal of the season, with an assist coming from Gregg Sutch. Buffalo Sabres prospect, Justin Kea had a nice finishing goal, his 21st of the season, by being at the right place at the right time, assisted by Nick Moutrey and Gregg Sutch. The Rangers also changed goaltenders at this time from Joel Vienneau to Jack Moylan. The second frame ended Saginaw 4 - Kitchener 1.

The Spirit and the Rangers came out strong in the third. Jason Shaw started off the scoring in the period, his 3rd of the season, on the power play, assisted by Eric Locke and Dalton Young. The Rangers then fired two quick goals. The first from Josh Sterk, his 6th of the season, with assists coming from Frank Corrado and Evan McEneny, followed by one off Matt Puempel's stick, his 28th of the season, assisted by Justin Bailey and Max Iafrate. The Spirit closed out the scoring on a tally by Terry Trafford, his 8th of the season, with assists coming from Justin Kea and Jeremiah Addison. The game ended Saginaw 6 - Kitchener 3, with the shots on goal Kitchener 48 - Saginaw 25.
