Owen Sound Attack News Release

The Owen Sound Attack will look to stretch their winning streak to five games on Saturday night when they host the Saginaw Spirit. The Attack have won their last four games, all by identical 3-2 scores (one game was 4-2 with an EN goal). The Attack has also given up only four power play opportunities their past two games, which has aided the low goals against total. Gemel Smith returned to the line-up on Thursday night and Artur Gavrus sat out with the flu, but is expected to return on Saturday night. Just four points separate the Attack and Rangers heading into this weekends action, with the Rangers hosting the Spirit tonight.

Saturday, February 23rd, 2013: Spirit @ Attack - Saginaw is one of the teams on the rise in the Western Conference. Mathematically, they can still catch the Plymouth Whalers for the West division lead and have been playing great hockey in the second half. The Spirit are 6-3-0-1 in their past 10 games and are relying on a committee of players to do the scoring after trading away leading scorer Vincent Trocheck.

Look Out For - Eric Locke and Garrett Ross are the two main offensive catalysts, but Jake Paterson can steal a game and be the difference maker. The 18 year old Red Wings prospect has stellar numbers, despite Saginaw being near the bottom of the conference. Paterson was also picked as the third goaltender for Team Canada's World Junior squad.

Tickets for Saturday's game are available at the Attack Box Office, online at www.attackhockey.com or by calling (519) 371-7452. Game time on Saturday is 7:30pm.
