Windsor Spitfires News Release

On a night when a pair of other rookies were the focus, it was call-up Graeme Brown who stole the show Thursday at the WFCU Centre.

The first-year defenceman, who has played most of the year with the Junior B Lasalle Vipers, set-up the game-tying goal and gave the Spits their first lead of the night just 85 seconds later, as the Spits rallied in the third period for an 8-5 win over the Erie Otters.

Brown set up Ben Johnson's 17th of the season, which made it a 4-4 game at 7:30, before taking a nifty cross-ice feed from Alexander Khokhlachev and beating Devin Williams (39 saves) to make it 5-4 at 9:25.

Alex Aleardi (2G) added the game-winner with the extra man at 12:26, one of four power play goals on the night for a Windsor club that came in just 3 for its last 30.

Kerby Rychel had a goal and four assists and Alexander Khokhlachev a goal and three helpers, as Windsor (23-28-1-6) kept its slim playoff hopes alive, moving nine points back of Saginaw for eighth in the Western Conference.

Remy Giftopoulos (1G, 1A), Josh Ho-Sang (2A) and Trevor Murphy (2A) made the list of eight Spits with multiple points.

J.P Labardo led Erie offensively with two goals and an assist, while linemate and the league's top rookie scorer, Connor McDavid, was held to just one assist.
