ROYALS PRE-GAME NOTES

-

This evening, the Royals kick off a three game set against the Brampton Beast with Reading's first game ever in Canada.

- Tonight's game is the third of what will be a total of five games played between the Beast and Reading this season. Brampton became the first team to ever beat the Royals in the organization's annual Pink in the Rink Game on Saturday, January 10, at Santander Arena (4-2); but Reading bounced back the next day to defeat Brampton (6-2).

- Reading is coming off a 6-1 win over the Kalamazoo Wings at Santander Arena in Reading on Sunday (March 15). That game snapped a two-game winless skid for the Royals and pushed the team's record back to the season high-water mark of twenty-three games over .500 at 39-16-3-2=83, which puts the Royals in second place five points behind the first place Florida Everblades.

- In Sunday's game against the K-Wings, the Royals snapped a string of less than stellar starts (the team had actually given up a goal in three of the previous four games essentially within the first minute of the contest) by scoring on the team's first shot 1:07 into the game. Reading has compiled a record of 26-4-0-2 when scoring the game's first goal.

- Throughout most of the season, Reading has dominated the third period; however, over the past five games the Royals have been outscored 10-1 in the final frame. Overall, Reading is still playing to a plus- 17 (+17) in the third, having scored 76 goals allowed 59.

- On Sunday, the Royals got six goals from six different players. Reading has compiled a record of 7-1-0-0 when scoring six or more goals.

- Reading held the K-Wings to just one goal on Sunday. The Royals are 17-0-0-0 when holding the opposition to one goal or less; and 26-0-0-0 when holding the opposition to two or fewer goals.

- The Royals have scored at least one power play goal in eight of the last fifteen games, scoring PPGs at a 26.5% clip during that time period (13 for 49).

- Reading's penalty kill has given up at least one power play goal against in eight of the last fourteen games, killing at a 78.8% clip during that time period (11 PPGA in 52 chances for the opposition on the PP).

- The Royals have compiled a record of 27-5-1-2 when holding the opposition's power play off the board.

- Olivier Labelle is riding a three game point streak (2g-3a=5pts) and has recorded at least a point in eight of his last nine games. Labelle recorded his thirteenth multi-point (and sixth three point performance) (1g-2a) in Sunday's 6-1 win for Reading. He has thirty-one points (12g-19a) in his last twenty-four games.

- Cam Reid scored his team leading twenty-fifth goal of the year on Sunday, which proved to be his seventh game winner of the season, as well, which is tied with David Marshall for the team lead.

- Adam Hughesman has had at least one point in fourteen of his last seventeen games, registering twenty points (5g-15a) during that time span.

- Pat Mullane snapped a nine game goal scoring drought when he bagged his twenty-first of the year-the Royals' fourth of the game-in Sunday's win over Kalamazoo.

- Ryan Cruthers, who has had five multi-point performances in his last thirteen games, leads the Royals with nineteen power play points (5g-14a).

- Sean Wiles is riding a three game point streak (2g-2a). Wiles, who has scored five goals in his last seven games, racked up his ninth multi-point game of the year on Sunday against Kalamazoo (0g-2a).

- Defenseman Jordan Heywood scored his eighth goal of the year-which leads all defensemen on the team-1:07 into Sunday's game on the team's first shot.

- Kevin Walrod registered his second multi-point game of the year (1g-1a) in Sunday's win over the K- Wings.
