
Seckel and Czarnowczan Join Walleye

Toledo, OH - Forward Reed Seckel has agreed to terms with the Toledo Walleye. Defenseman Scott Czarnowczan has been assigned to the Walleye from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League and the Walleye have released defenseman Mike Slowikowski.
Seckel joins Toledo after completing his senior with Northern Michigan. The native of Melvin, Michigan had eight goals and nine assists with 97 penalty minutes in 33 games played this season. Over his colligate career, Seckel posted 41 goals, 46 assists and 345 penalty minutes in 148 games for the Wildcats.
The 25-year-old led Northern Michigan in goals with 13 in 2012-13 and has led the Wildcats in penalty minutes in each of the last three seasons. He spent two years with Green Bay in the USHL prior to joining Northern Michigan (34G, 75A, 256 PIMS). The 5'10", 183 pound forward was a member of the Clark Cup Champion Gamblers in 2010.
Czarnowczan has appeared in 27 games this year with Grand Rapids, scoring twice with seven assists. The native of Macomb, Michigan started the season in a Walleye uniform, posting 14 points (1G, 13A) in sixteen games. The 23-year-old spent the last four seasons at Ferris State University where he posted nine goals and 54 assists in 141 games. He was also a plus 38 in his college career.
Slowikowski did not have any points in thirteen games with the Walleye this season but was a plus six with four penalty minutes.
