WHO'S HOT...

Brad Leeb: Leeb has two goals and an assist in his last five games and has four points in six games so far this season.

Kyle Wellwood: Rookie forward Wellwood has four points (g,3a) in six games this season.

Pierre Hedin: has three points including two powerplay markers in his first six games as a pro.

Sebastien Centomo: Goaltender Sebastein Centomo posted a 2.55 GAA and a .926 save percentage in four games last week.

LEAFLETS...

The Baby Buds are 3rd overall in the AHL with a 24.2% success rate while on the powerplay.

The St. John's Maple Leafs finished a four game homestand with a 1-3-0-0 record.

The Maple Leafs play the Pirates for a two-game set this weekend, its their only visit to Portland this season.

THIS WEEK'S OPPONENT...

The Portland Pirates (Washington) recorded their first win of the season last Saturday night in a 2-1 overtime victory... The Pirates are 1-4-0-0 in the early AHL season... Portland leads the all-time series against the Maple Leafs with a 17-34-7 record... The Pirates have only scored twice in 28 attempts while on the powerplay and are 13th overall in the league when killing penalties at 86.4%... Colin Forbes has four assists in his first three games. Forbes also leads the Pirates with four points... Goaltender Maxime Ouellet has a 1-2-0 reocrd, a 1.99 GAA and a .945 save percentage. Ouellet has stopped all but six of 103 shots he has faced in three appearances so far this season... Both teams will meet for the final time this season on February 27 & 28 at Mile One Stadium.

The Leafs Foundation Legacy Project grant recipient has been determined. In Excess of forty applicants put forth proposals. The St. John's Maple Leafs take on the Toronto Road Runners for the first time in history. The Edmonton Oilers farm team has relocated from Hamilton to Toronto during the past off season.
