
Pirates Promotional Calendar a Full One

PORTLAND, ME - Attending a Portland Pirates' game has always been an entertaining feast for fans. Whether it's the game action on the ice or the promotional activities off it, the Pirates have delivered great family entertainment for a decade. The Pirates will not deviate from that formula during the 2003-2004 season, their eleventh in the American Hockey League. The Pirates are offering a full slate of promotions and giveaways throughout their 40-game home schedule.
"The Pirates set the standard for game night promotions when they entered the AHL back in 1993," said Brian Petrovek, the Pirates' CEO. "Ten years later, we continue to activate and leverage many of our corporate partnerships to enhance fans experience through an aggressive and creative promotions program."
This week, the Pirates will be celebrating the 10th birthday of their mascot Crackers on Sunday, October 26th, presented by Hannaford Supermarkets. Fans will receive "thunder sticks" prior to the game. Fans also will be encouraged to bring a present for Crackers which will then be donated to United Way of Greater Portland partner agencies. Fans will also receive a piece of Crackers' birthday cake during the celebration.
The Pirates are featuring several popular promotions from past seasons. On Saturday, December 6th, the Pirates will be giving out team photos sponsored by the Maine Credit Union League to everyone in attendance at their game against the Springfield Falcons. December 31st brings the annual Kids' New Years celebration with indoor fireworks sponsored by Pepsi. On January 9th, the Pirates will hold one of two Bobblehead Doll nights. The first 1,500 fans will leave with Maxime Ouellet bobblehead dolls, sponsored by Pepsi. On February 21st, the Pirates will be giving out Crackers bobblehead dolls sponsored by Hannaford to the first 1,500 fans.
The Pirates will also be offering a free concert with artist Todd Agnew in conjunction with radio station WMSJ prior to their game with the Providence Bruins on December 27th. The concert is sponsored by the Cumberland County Civic Center.

The Pirates return to action on Friday night, October 24th, when they host the St. John's Maple Leafs at 7:05 p.m. They'll be in Worcester to face the IceCats on Saturday night before returning home for a 4:05 face-off with the Leafs on Sunday. Tickets for both home games are on sale all week at the Cumberland County Civic Center box office and all Ticketmaster outlets. In addition, the Pirates have two recurring promotions throughout the season. Fans can receive a "buy one, get one free" coupon for any of 14 Margaritas Frozen Fridays. Fans will receive the coupon with their dinner check at Margaritas. The coupon can then be redeemed at the Civic Center box office. Two lucky contestants each Friday night will "Dance for their Dinners" for a chance to win a VIP dinner for two at Margaritas.
The Pirates are also offering the Fleet Family Four Pack. For each of the Pirates' six Sunday home games this season, fans can purchase four Quarter Deck tickets, four hot dogs or pizza slices, four soft drinks and four game day programs all for just $49. That's more than $25 off the regular prices for the items purchased separately. Fleet Family Four Packs may be purchased in advance or on the day of the game at either the Civic Center box office or the Pirates' offices at 531 Congress Street in Portland.
