February 16, 2011 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (February 15)- Texas battled for their third straight victory Tuesday evening as they defeated the Laredo Bucks 4-2 on the road.
Neil Trimm lit the lamp first giving Laredo the early lead in the first, only to have Texas defenseman Darryl McArthur take a shot from the point on the powerplay for a 1-1 tie. The second period began with fisticuffs between Brahma George Bradley and Buck Justin Styffe :56 seconds from the faceoff. Following the melee, Texas earned their first lead of the game when Calin Wild took a pass from Tyler Allen to beat Torrie Jung for his ninth goal of the season.
The Bucks didn ¬â¢t sit back as Reid Edmondson beat Wayne Savage at the 13:03 mark in the second, but once again the Brahmas knew just how to retaliate when Texas ¬â¢ top line converted with a goal of their own from Jason Deitsch; assists were rewarded to linemates Greg Hogeboom and Chad Woollard. IN the winding seconds of regulation, Woollard took advantage of an empty Buck net for Texas ¬â¢ fourth goal in the game.
The Brahmas powerplay went 1-4 on the job and Savage stopped 20 shots on goal for his third straight victory in net.
Texas will now host a three game homestand beginning Friday against Odessa and Saturday against Allen; both with 7:30 pm starts. On Monday, February 21 the Brahmas have a game against the Wichita Thunder at a special "President ¬â¢s Day" time, 6 pm.
