Allen Stays on Top of Yellowbook CHL Coaches Poll

TEMPE, AZ (February 16, 2011) - For the fifth consecutive poll and for the sixth time this season, the Allen Americans have been voted the #1 team in the Yellowbook CHL Coaches Poll. Allen continues to lead all CHL teams with 69 points and despite losing back-to-back games for the first time this season in their last two outings, are 34-10-1. Allen is well on their way to winning the Berry Conference leading the second place Texas Brahmas by 16 points.

The Yellowbook CHL Coaches Poll is released on or near the beginning and middle of each month throughout the regular season. Each first place vote receives 10 points, second place votes earn nine points, etc.

All 10 teams on the CHL Coaches Poll remained the same from the poll released in early February. The #2 and #3 teams switched places as the Turner Conference leading Rapid City Rush, winners of 11 straight games, take over the #2 spot and the Colorado Eagles drop to #3. Wichita remains #4 and Bloomington remains #5 rounding out the top five. The Rush have been the biggest movers over the past month moving up from the #9 spot in the mid-January poll to their current location at #2.

The Americans earned 16 first place votes and the Rush garnered the other two top votes.

The biggest advancement in the current poll belongs to the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs who jump from #9 to #6 thanks to three wins in their last four outings. The Tulsa Oilers reflect the biggest drop falling from #6 to #10.
