It's becoming routine for Troy Patton (4-0). Another start, another string of scoreless innings for the lefthander. Patton ran his streak to 31 straight after 6 2/3 against West Virginia in the Legends 6-0 win, Thursday night.
The 31 innings stands as a Legends club record. Patton is 8 2/3 away from the SAL record. Chad Reineke closed out the game with 2 1/3 scoreless innings to secure his fourth save of the season. The shutout is the Legends seventh of the season.
The Lexington provided plenty of offense for Patton. Ben Zobrist had two sacrifice fly's in the game. Hunter Pence belted a solo home run, his 22nd blast of the year. Mitch Einertson drilled a three run shot, his fifth of the season.
Lexington improves to 37-24 on the season, equaling a season best 13 games over .500.
The Legends wrap up the brief four game road trip on Friday night. Ronnie Martinez will take the hill opposite of Josh Baker. The first pitch is slated for 7:05 at Appalachian Power Park. The Progressive Direct pre-game show will kick off Legends Network coverage at 6:50.
