Augusta, Ga. - A Carlos Sosa error and solid pitching from Asheville gave the Tourists a 1-0 win over the GreenJackets at Lake Olmstead Stadium on Kids Day. Wednesday afternoon saw the GreenJackets bats asleep for the second game in a row. The GreenJackets are now only a half game ahead of Asheville for second place in the Southern Division.

After Matt Miller led off the second inning with a ground out, Justin Nelson reached base safely when first baseman Sosa misplayed his grounder. Dustin Hahn followed with a double down the left field line, driving in Nelson for the only run of the game. GreenJackets starter Darren Sack got the loss, although he pitched very well, going seven innings with no walks and seven strikeouts. Tourists starter and winning pitcher, Larry Robles and three Asheville relievers combined on a four hit, shutout victory.

For the second consecutive game, the GreenJackets could not muster anything at bat. Only two GreenJackets reached third base. In the third inning, Marcus Sanders walked with two outs. Carlos Sosa also walked and both runners advanced a base when catcher Neil Wilson attempted to nab Sosa off first. Instead, the ball went into right field however, the inning ended when Brian Horwitz struck out looking on a 3-2 curve.

With one out in the ninth, Mike Wagner tripled to the wall in right-center off closer Scott Beerer. Pinch hitter Jon Armitage was caught looking for strike three and Aaron Hornostaj grounded out to end the game.

The GreenJackets allowed only four hits, and just one after the third inning. The lone hit was a Joe Koshansky double off the center field wall off reliever Sean Martin, who stranded the runner at second after he retired the next three batters in order.
