Iowa Barnstormers News Release
DES MOINES - The craziest fan experience in arena football is back as the Iowa Barnstormers Arena Football Club today announced that "The Barnyard" seating sections will be available for the upcoming 2009 season.
In addition to the return of "The Barnyard," team officials also announced that single-game ticket sales will begin on Thursday, March 5.
"Bringing back the atmosphere of The Barnyard has been a priority since day one and will truly give the Barnstormers a home field advantage," said team president Jeff Lamberti. "Of course our opponents should be on notice that we are doing the original Barnyard one better, by creating two Barnyards by having one in each end zone."
The Barnyard was created during the Barnstormers' AFL tenure when the team's games were played in Veterans Memorial Auditorium. The Barnstormers' new home of Wellmark Field at Wells Fargo Arena will now allow the current Barnstormers to replicate that unique fan experience that opposing teams will again come to fear.
The Barnstormers are partnering with numerous central Iowa businesses to provide the ultimate fan experiences for Barnyard Season Ticket Holders. The Barnyard North will be sponsored by Miller Lite and LAZER 103.3 while The Barnyard South will be sponsored by Miller Lite, FOX-17 and 95KGGO.
Seats in The Barnyard sections are limited and only available by purchasing season tickets for $168, which includes not only a seat for all eight home games, but Barnyard-themed promotional merchandise throughout the season.
The 'Stormers also announced that single-game ticket sales will begin at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 5 for the team's eight-game home schedule that commences Saturday, April 4 against the Tulsa Talons. Single-game tickets start as low as $12 per seat.
Team officials are encouraging fans to order their individual Barnstormers game tickets by visiting www.theiowabarnstormers.com or visiting the Wells Fargo Arena box office, which is located on the Southeast corner of Wells Fargo Arena in downtown Des Moines.
