BOSSIER CITY, LA - The Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings, in conjunction with Dr. Ravish Patwardhan and The Comprehensive Neurosurgery Network will host FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) Night on Saturday, April 11 when the BattleWings host the Boise Burn.

"This is one of the most amazing things the BattleWings have ever been a part of," commented owner Dan Newman. "Most times when we have groups 'sponsored'-they get a discounted ticket. In this case, Dr. Patwardhan has stepped up to the plate. He's providing a free ticket to any FCA member-in any FCA huddle anywhere in the Ark-La-Tex. We are both grateful and humbled by his generosity."

In addition to sponsoring the FCA night at the game, Dr. Patwardhan will host a pre-game reception for FCA members and share his special presentation, "Faith: what my patients continue to teach me." In this presentation, Dr. Patwardhan will outline the steps young people can take to avoid tragic brain and spinal cord injury, and in moments of despair following injury, how powerful odds have been overcome.

"In the people we see suffering from brain and spinal cord injury, we see people who are at some of their lowest moments in life. It's also a moment of tremendous outpouring of support from family and friends, an opportunity to show their faith and belief that they will overcome the odds and win against whatever problem they are fighting-many times a team effort," said Dr. Patwardhan.

"The Fellowship of Christian Athletes ministers to our area through coaches, campuses, camps and community," said Northern Louisiana FCA Director, Terry Slack. "FCA's vision is to see the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of athletes and coaches. Our mission is to present to athletes and coaches, and all whom the influence, the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, serving Him in their relationships and in the fellowship of the Church."

"We are very appreciative of Dr. Patwardhan and the Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings providing this wonderful opportunity for the FCA Huddles we have in our schools," added Slack. "We look forward to this special message from Dr. Patwardhan and to having many of our student/athletes and coaches attending the game on April 11th."
