Texas Stars News Release
CEDAR PARK, Texas - The Texas Stars close out their three-game road trip on Tuesday in Milwaukee and return home for a pair of weekend games against the Bakersfield Condors in a Pacific Division matchup.
-- THIS WEEK'S SCHEDULE --
October 27 at Milwaukee Admirals, 7 p.m.:
The Stars and Admirals hook up for the first of four games this season. Tuesday's game was originally scheduled for Dec. 4, but had to be moved due to a scheduling conflict. The Admirals are 1-3-0-0 to start the season and led offensively by Max Reinhart, who has a goal and two assists this season. Last year, the Stars swept their season series against Milwaukee going 4-0-0-0.
October 30 at 7:30 p.m. and November 1 at 5 p.m. vs. Bakersfield Condors:
The Bakersfield Condors make their debut at Cedar Park Center in a Pacific Division matchup against the Stars. Bakersfield is one of five teams in the AHL that relocated to the state of California over the summer, and was formerly the Oklahoma City Barons. The Stars went 5-3-4-0 against Oklahoma City last season. The Condors are 2-3-0-1 on the year and tied for sixth in the Pacific Division.
-- LAST WEEK'S RESULTS --
October 21 vs. Stockton Heat, 1-0 Loss:
Maxime Lagace and Jon Gillies traded saves all night long, but a power play goal for the Stockton Heat with 4:42 left in the third period was the difference as the Texas Stars suffered a 1-0 loss on Wednesday. Freddie Hamilton tallied the game-winning goal with a wrist shot from the left circle that beat a screened Lagace for the forward's second goal of the season. The Stars' rookie netminder finished with 32 saves, while Gillies of the Heat earned his second shutout of the season, stopping 36.
October 24 at Iowa Wild, 3-2 Loss:
The Texas Stars tallied a late goal to pull within one, and made a final push with the extra attacker, but Leland Irving and the Iowa Wild held on for a 3-2 win on Saturday night at Wells Fargo Arena. Devin Shore's seventh goal of the season was set up by Julius Honka's centering pass from behind the net with 2:45 left in regulation to make it a 3-2 deficit for the Stars. Irving's 29 saves on the night were the difference as the veteran goaltender made a variety of stops on quality scoring chances for Texas all game.
October 25 at Iowa wild, 4-1 Win:
Travis Morin scored his first goal of the season and John Muse turned aside 29 shots in net as the Texas Stars shot down the Iowa Wild in a 4-1 road win on Sunday evening. Devin Shore scored his team-leading eighth of the season for Texas. Derek Hulak also scored and appeared in his 100th career pro game.
