MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Admirals forced overtime in the final seconds of regulation and Marek Mazanec denied Justin Dowling in round four of the shootout to top the Texas Stars in a 4-3 final on Tuesday night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

Frederick Gaudreau scored the shootout-winner for the Admirals (2-3-0-0). Despite the loss, John Muse of the Stars (5-2-0-1) was brilliant stopping 41 shots. Colton Sissions tipped in Kevin Fiala's shot with 5.9 seconds left in regulation to force the extra frame.

The Stars return home on Friday to host the Bakersfield Condors at 7:30 p.m. CST at Cedar Park Center.

Jason Dickinson opened up the scoring less than two minutes into the game when Devin Shore set up the rookie forward in the slot for the first goal of his professional career. Muse made the 1-0 lead hold up through the rest of the period for Texas, stopping 14 shots and three power play opportunities for the Admirals, including a stint of a two-man advantage.

In the second, Vladislav Kamenev stuffed home the first of three power play goals in the game for the Admirals at 8:53, but Travis Morin responded for the Stars on a power play goal from the left circle less than three minutes later to make it 2-1 Texas after two.

Julius Honka pushed the Stars lead to 3-1 off a wrist shot from the point that was deflected in front at 4:22 of the third from Remi Elie and Mattias Backman. Kamenev struck again on the man-advantage for Milwaukee at 13:35 and setup the late heroics from Sissons to knot the score at 3-3.

Devin Shore was the Stars' only scorer in the shootout. Fiala was Milwaukee's other goal-scorer.

The Stars finished 1-for-5 on the power play while Milwaukee went 3-for-8.

Mazanec finished with 25 saves for the Admirals.

It was Milwaukee's first win over the Stars since Oct. 30, 2013, a 3-2 overtime win.

The Texas Stars are the primary development affiliate of the NHL's Dallas Stars and currently in their seventh season at Cedar Park Center.
