BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Oct. 27, 2015) - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers along with Harbor Yard Sports and Entertainment announced today that Michael Picker has been named President. Picker will oversee all sales, marketing and operational responsibilities for the Sound Tigers and Webster Bank Arena. He will also have the responsibility of booking all events, including concerts, family shows and sporting events for the building.

Picker has been with the New York Islanders organization since 2000 in various roles. During this timeframe, he has served as the organization's Senior Vice President and Alternate Governor. Picker helped develop various marketing campaigns, bolstered the Islanders' overall sales and expanded the team's reach in the community to stretch throughout all of Long Island. In addition, he was the point person for Nassau County and SMG, Nassau Coliseum's building owner and facility manager respectively.

"I always worked with a tremendous staff of creative and dedicated individuals to accomplish our goals," Picker said. "The staff in Bridgeport are no different. The success always comes from putting the fans and sponsors first."

"Michael has done an incredible job running the front office for the Islanders," Islanders Owner Charles Wang said. "I have worked closely with Michael for almost 33 years and know he will do a great job with the Bridgeport operation. Michael was involved with the purchase of the Sound Tigers and, through his work with the Islanders, is quite familiar with the operation and the employees in Bridgeport. I look forward to a vibrant and active Arena."
