Syracuse Crunch Reassign Goaltender Allen York to Greenville Swamp Rabbits

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse Crunch have reassigned goaltender Allen York to the Greenville Swamp Rabbits of the ECHL, Crunch general manager Julien BriseBois announced today. Additionally, the Tampa Bay Lightning have assigned Kevin Poulin to the Crunch.

York, 26, appeared in one contest with the Crunch since being recalled from Greenville on Oct. 23. He made 22 saves and posted a .846 save percentage against the Utica Comets on Oct. 24. York also played in one preseason contest with the Crunch this year, where he had a 17-save shutout performance. While on loan to Greenville, York started one game, making 24 saves with a .828 save percentage.

York appeared in eight games with the Crunch during the 2014-15 season, posting a 3.26 goals-against average and .895 save percentage to go along with a 2-3-1 record. He also played in 26 games with the Florida Everblades of the ECHL, recording a 17-5-3 record with a 2.63 goals-against average, .903 save percentage and four shutouts. Additionally, York appeared in eight Kelly Cup Playoffs games, tallying a 4-3-0 record, 2.50 goals-against average and .899 save percentage.

York has appeared in 49 career AHL games for Springfield, Charlotte, Texas, Rockford and Syracuse compiling a 23-16-4 record. He also has three career AHL shutouts. York reached the National Hockey League during the 2011-12 season and went 3-2-0 in 11 games for the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Prior to his professional career, the 6-foot-3, 194-pound netminder spent three seasons at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from 2008 to 2011, earning a 37-34-8 record with four shutouts.

York was selected in the sixth round, 158th overall, by Columbus in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Poulin, 25, was claimed off waivers from the New York Islanders by Tampa Bay on Sept. 27. The Montreal, Quebec native has appeared in 50 NHL games, all with the Islanders, posting a .899 save percentage and a 3.07 goals-against average. He has also played in 156 career AHL contests with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers from 2011 to 2014, compiling a 69-70-24 record.

Poulin was drafted by New York in the fifth round, 126th overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
