Texas Stars News Release
CEDAR PARK, TX - The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced today that they have signed right wing Bretton Cameron to a professional tryout contract, calling him up from the Greenville Road Warriors of the ECHL.
Cameron, 24, joins Texas for the second time this season. The Didsbury, Alberta native originally signed a PTO with the Stars on January 26th and made his Texas debut that night against the San Antonio Rampage at Cedar Park Center. Cameron played in one game during his first stint with the Stars and did not register a point. In 43 ECHL games for Greenville this season, he has 25 points (12 goals, 13 assists) and ranks second on the Road Warriors with 93 penalty minutes. Cameron is once again reunited with head coach Willie Desjardins after playing for the Stars' bench boss with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League. In 179 career WHL games, he notched 120 points (62 goals, 58 assists) and 261 penalty minutes.
The Stars open a three-game home stand tonight as they host the Houston Aeros for a 7:30 p.m. faceoff at Cedar Park Center. Pro-rated full and partial 2012-13 season seat packages are on sale now.
