
Bears Recall Forward Matt Pope from Reading

HERSHEY, Pa. - The HERSHEY BEARS announced today that the club has recalled forward Matt Pope from the ECHL's Reading Royals. The announcement was made by BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst.
Pope, 28, has appeared in 28 games with HERSHEY this season, and has posted five points (one goal, four assists). In 73 total games since signing with the BEARS for 2011-12, he has registered eight goals and eight assists.
The 6-1, 193-pound native of Langley, BC has also averaged a point per game with Reading, as he has notched one goal, five assists and a plus-four rating in six contests.
In 180 career AHL games with Binghamton, Manitoba, San Antonio and HERSHEY, Pope has accumulated 19 goals, 24 assists and 100 penalty minutes.
The BEARS will travel across the border for a Friday night contest against the Hamilton Bulldogs. The puck drops at Copps Coliseum at 7:30 PM.
The team returns home on Saturday, February 23 for a 7:00 PM matchup against the Adirondack Phantoms. The first 4,000 fans will receive an eco-friendly tote bag courtesy of Proac Corporation. Fans are invited to donate blood prior to the game to benefit the Central PA Blood Bank. Additionally, "Chocolate-Covered February" continues, and all fans will receive candy upon exit courtesy of the HERSHEY Company.
