NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas - In their last preparation before opening the 2010-11 campaign, the Texas Brahmas defeated their Metroplex rivals, Allen Americans, 2-1 in overtime Saturday on the road.

It was a scoreless opening period but the Brahmas offense was awaken in the second when Jason Krischuk scored an unassisted goal at the 7:06 marker, his first of the preseason. A third period goal from American's forward Alexandr Quesnel sent the game into overtime for the second consecutive night, but the Brahmas ended things early with a goal one minute in the extra period, coming from the stick of Steven Later.

The Brahmas now gear up for the regular season as they open on the road on Friday, October 15 against the same Allen Americans. Texas will return to the NYTEX Sports Centre for the home opener on Friday, October 22 when they host the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees for a 7:30 pm faceoff.
