Tessier Wins Performance of the Week

WICHITA, KS- Thunder defenseman Jason Tessier's hat trick against Tulsa on December 26th has been voted the CHL's Performance of the Week for December 22nd-28th.

Tessier collected two power play goals in the second period, leading Wichita to a 6-3 win over the Oilers at the BOK Center. Leading 5-3 late in the third, Tessier shot from behind his own blue line into an empty net to finish off the first hat trick of his career.

The veteran has six goals and 11 assists in 31 games played this season. Tessier has eight points and is +2 in his last six games, in which the Thunder has gone 4-2-0.

Tessier is the second Thunder player to win Performance of the Week. Goaltender Tim Boron received the honor for December 15th-21st for his 51-save win over Mississippi on December 19th.

The Thunder is back in action tonight, finishing a five-game homestand against the defending champion Arizona Sundogs. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at the Kansas Coliseum. For tickets, call the Thunder office at (316) 264-GOAL.
