Tulsa Oilers News Release
*Hello '09:* The Tulsa Oilers welcome 2009 and a new coach for their first home game of the new year tonight against the Texas Brahmas. Tonight is the Oilers' first game under new head coach Tony Martino.
*Records: *Oilers are 9-17-4 with 22 points in fourth place in the Northeast Division.
Texas is 20-9-3 for 43 points in first place in the Southeast Division.
*Season Series: *This is the third of four meetings between these two teams this season. They have split the first two games, with each team winning on its home ice. Texas won 6-2 on November 22^nd , and the Oilers took a 2-1 decision on December 2^nd .
*Recent Action: *The Oilers are coming off a 3-2 victory in Rapid City on Saturday night. That was the final game under interim coach Taylor Hall, who has returned to his full time general manager duties. The Oilers were 1-2-1 in the interim period. Texas beat Laredo 4-1 Saturday night in Laredo for its fourth straight win. The Brahmas have also won seven of their last eight games.
*Roster Moves: *Both of these teams have made recent roster moves. The Oilers waived goaltender Guy St. Vincent and left wing Dennis Sicard. Tonight also will mark the first home game for defenseman Kevin Seibel. Texas yesterday acquired center Travis Banga from Rio Grande Valley in exchange for Topher Scott, Matt Byrnes (who had been acquired in an earlier trade with Wichita) and future considerations from Rocky Mountain and Rapid City that had been owed to Texas. Banga is not expected to be in the Brahmas line up until Friday night when they play at Mississippi.
*Daddy Dearest:* Kevin Hansen returns to the line up tonight. He didn't play in the Oilers two games at Rapid City, staying in Tulsa with his wife Shannon who is expecting their first child.
*Thumbs Down:* Defenseman Peter Kennedy will miss tonight's game with a thumb injury suffered December 31^st in a game at Wichita.
*$2 Tuesday:* Fans tonight can take advantage of $2 specials on beer and soft drinks tonight at the BOK Center.
*Next Up: *The Oilers travel to Mississippi for a 7:05 p.m. game Friday and stay on the road Saturday against Oklahoma City at 7:10 p.m. The Oilers next home game is Friday January 16^th against Bossier-Shreveport.
