LINCOLN - For the second straight game Saltdogs pitchers held Winnipeg scoreless over the final eight frames as Lincoln edged the Goldeyes 2-1 in front of 4,635 fans at Haymarket Park Sunday evening.

Jino Gonzalez (6-0) allowed just one run in the first, going seven innings to earn the victory. Gonzalez at one point retired 13 consecutive Winnipeg hitters.

Curt Smith smashed an RBI double to deep left center to even the score in bottom of the first before Jorge Cortes singled him in to give the Saltdogs the 2-1 lead, and end the game's scoring.

The Goldeyes loaded the bases with nobody out in the seventh but were unable to score, and stranded seven runners on base over the final three innings.

Santo Luis worked a hitless eighth and PJ Zocchi spun a scoreless ninth for his 20th save of the year.

Isaac Hess (7-4) allowed two runs on five hits over six innings to suffer the loss.
