Brandon, MB. - The Brandon Wheat Kings 2019 Training Camp has come to an end.
Cole Reinhardt scored three times, including the winner as Team White edged Team Black 7-6 in the Western Hockey League club's annual Intrasquad Game Sunday afternoon at Westoba Place.
The 19-year old Irricana, Alberta product scored a goal in each period, with his third snapping a 6-6 tie with 6:25 remaining in the third period.
The game was tied at two through twenty minutes with Team White grabbing a 4-3 lead through forty minutes on Reinhardt's second of the game - on the powerplay - with less than a minute to go in the second.
In the third, Team White grabbed a 5-3 lead, only to see Team Black battle back to tie the game at five. William Highet then regained the lead for the Whites before Nolan Ritchie deadlocked the score at six with seven minutes to play.
Reinhardt's game winner came 22 seconds later.
Caiden Daley, Jonny Lambos and Brett Hyland rounded out the scoring for the Whites while Connor Gutenberg, Luka Burzan, Owen Weihs, Jonny Hooker and Davis Chorney scored goals for the Black team.
The Wheat Kings are expected to trim their pre-season roster by reassigning a number of players tonight and will then turn their attention to their pre-season opener Friday night against the visiting Winnipeg Ice.
Tickets to Friday's game as well as the 2019 Home Opener - September 20th against Winnipeg - will go on sale Tuesday morning at 10am at the Keystone Centre box office.
