Team effort gives Express winning record
June 23, 2003 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Round Rock Express News Release
This has been a trying season for the Round Rock Express. However, they took a fairly significant step Monday night towards rectifying a poor first half.
Round Rock got home runs from Chris Tremie, Tommy Whiteman and Michael Rosamond homered and five pitchers combined to limit the first place Frisco RoughRiders to one run as the Express won, 4-1. The win moves the Express to 3-2 in the second half, the first time they've been above .500 for the first time this year.
After Ramon Nivar stole home in the first, the game belonged completely to Round Rock. The three home runs came in the third, fourth and fifth innings to give the pitching staff the lead.
Making his first start for Round Rock, Nick Roberts was efficient for his five innings. He allowed one run on two hits and struck out seven. Roberts then gave way to Cheyenne Janke, Mike Burns, Max Tremblay and Eric Cammack, who pitched the ninth to get his first save.
Jacques Landry also had an excellent night, going 3 for 4 and driving in the final Round Rock run.
The two teams will continue a four game series tomorrow at 7:05 p.m.
