Ashcroft Appearance Highlight Sounds' 'Legal Professionals Night'

NASHVILLE — United State Attorney General John Ashcroft, in town to speak at the 2003 National Sheriffs' Association Conference and Exhibition this afternoon, will throw out the first pitch at Greer Stadium this evening prior to the Sounds' 7 p.m. game against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox.

Ashcroft's appearance coincides with the Sounds' "Legal Professionals Night." All individuals employed in a legal profession will receive a ticket, hot dog, and soft drink for just $10 at tonight's game.

In addition, tonight marks "Mullet Monday" at the ballpark. All fans sporting a mullet-style haircut will be admitted free and will have the opportunity to have their locks shorn in exchange for a season ticket for the remainder of the 2003 season. Haircuts will be conducted behind home plate throughout the Sounds-Sky Sox contest.

Gates open at 5 p.m. for the 7 p.m. contest. Tickets are available by calling the Sounds' box office at 615-242-4371.
