Taylor Twellman and Marshall Leonard Undergo Successful Surgeries

Foxborough, Mass. - The New England Revolution announced today that Honda MLS MVP forward Taylor Twellman and midfielder Marshall Leonard both underwent successful minor surgical procedures following the Major League Soccer season and are expected to make full recoveries in time for the 2006 preseason.

Twellman, MLS's 2005 Honda Most Valuable Player and Budweiser Golden Boot winner as top goalscorer, had a hernia repair operation performed by Dr. Ulrike Muschaweck and Dr. Angie Erhorn on Thursday, November 24 at Hernienzentrum in Munich, Germany. Twellman's total recovery time from the operation is 2-3 weeks; he is actively rehabilitating at this time.

Marshall Leonard had bilateral adductor release surgery performed by Dr. Bertram Zarins and Dr. David Rattner at Massachusetts General Hospital on Friday, November 18. The expected recovery time for Leonard is expected to be 6-8 weeks from the time of the surgery. Leonard has already begun a rigorous rehabilitation program for both legs.
