Taylor Recalled By Syracuse

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that goaltender Danny Taylor has been recalled by the team's American Hockey League affiliate Syracuse Crunch. Taylor, who is under contract with the Crunch, makes his fourth trip to the AHL this season. In 29 games with the Gladiators this season, the 23-year-old has turned in a record of 14-11-3 with a 3.43 goals against average and a.905 save percentage. He has one shutout this season, a 3-0 decision at Reading on December 11.

A native of Plymouth, England, Taylor was selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the seventh round with the 221st overall pick of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. After three junior seasons in the Ontario Hockey League, he made his pro debut with the Bakersfield Condors in 2006. Since then, the fourth-year pro has had stints with Wheeling, Texas, and Reading of the ECHL as well as parts of two seasons with the AHL's Manchester Monarchs. He appeared in one NHL game with the Los Angeles Kings in March of 2008.

In 41 total AHL games, Taylor has accumulated a record of 21-10-4 with a 2.60 goals against average and a.913 save percentage. He has logged 104 minutes in three games during his previous three stints with the Crunch this season, posting a 0-1-0 record with eight goals against.

The Gladiators continue their 7th season in the ECHL on Friday, February 26th @ Kalamazoo at 7:30 p.m. The Gladiators are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers and Columbus Blue Jackets and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
