Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that forward Matt Marquardt has been re-assigned by the Boston Bruins from the Providence Bruins of the AHL to the Royals. In a separate transaction, the Royals released Emergency Back-Up Goaltender Shane Davis.

During his most recent stint as the team's EBG, Davis made his first appearance in the ECHL, playing the final 3:22 of the second period in last Friday's 8-3 loss for the Royals to the Elmira Jackals. In that appearance, Davis made four stops on six shots faced.

The Royals are back in action tonight (Friday, February 26, 2010 @ 7:05 pm) when the Wheeling Nailers travel to the Sovereign Center. The Royals game night broadcast on the Royals Radio Network presented by Transmissions by Arbogast will kick off with the pre-game warm-up show at 6:35 pm.
