Bradenton Marauders News Release
TAMPA, Fla. - In the first game of the final three game series of the year between the Bradenton Marauders and the Tampa Tarpons, the completion of a suspended contest moved from 8/12 at LECOM Park to George M. Steinbrenner Field ended in a rout with the home side ending the night with new season highs in both runs (19), hits (22) and runs scored in an inning (7 in the fourth). Bradenton pitching allowed five home runs in the loss as seven of Tampa's nine starters scored multiple runs.
With the game beginning after a 45 minute delay in the bottom of the first with no score yet, Bradenton took their first and only lead of the evening when Albert Baur doubled with two outs and was driven in on an Adrian Valerio base knock. Baur clubbed his thirteenth home run of the season to lead off the fourth inning before Tampa's season-high seven run bottom of the inning; the score sat 14-1 heading in to the fifth. The Tarpons plated five runs over the final five innings while blanking Bradenton to five singles over the same time span to cap off a record setting performance. Both Angel Aguilar and Steven Sensley paced the home offense with five runs batted in apiece.
The Marauders continue their final series of the season in the penultimate contest Saturday afternoon with a 3 pm scheduled first pitch in Tampa. LHP Domingo Robles looks for his first career with the Marauders through limited outings, and LHP Reviver Samaritan is scheduled to make his second Tarpons appearance in a start.
