T-Bones Late Rallies Defeat X's in Series Finale

Kansas City, KS - A couple of late rallies by the Kansas City T-Bones ended up dooming the X's on their way to a 9-5 loss in the series finale.
Scott Carroll the starter for Kansas City shut down the X's for most of the game. Not allowing a base runner till the fourth when Luis Durango reached on a bunt single and faced the minimum through five innings. Carroll did not pick up a decision going 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits striking out 7 and walking none.
The T-Bones picked up a 2-0 lead on the X's with a Zach Walters solo home run to lead off the second inning. And again in the fourth Zach Walters reached on a lead off single, Kansas City then loaded the bases and he scored on a wild pitch thrown by X's starter Taylor Jordan.
The X's would eventually get to Carroll in the sixth. Dexture McCall lead off the inning with a double. He scored on the X's newest addition Jordan Edgerton as he lined a double down the left field line to give the X's their first run of the game. Michael Lang then gave Sioux City their first lead of the game as he smashed a 2-run homer to left making it 3-2 Sioux City.
But Kansas City responded in the seventh scoring three times. Keith Curcio reached on a one out base hit and then stole second. He advanced to third on a ground out and with two out in the inning Todd Cunningham drove him home with a base hit to tie the game. Nick Torres then singled putting runners on first and third. That was it for Taylor Jordan as he gave way to Ryan Flores. Flores allowed a double to Zach Walters which scored Cunningham and Torres and gave Kansas City a 5-3 lead.
All those runs were charged to Jordan (4-1) who took his first loss of the season going 6.2 innings, allowing 5 runs on 9 hits striking out 4 and walking 1.
Sioux City would cut into the deficit in the top of the eighth as Edgerton hit his first home run in his first game as an Explorer making it 5-4.
But Kansas City would score four more runs in the bottom of the eighth, they did it on only three hits off of X's reliever Parker Markel. Nick Torres had a 2-run single with two outs to break it open for Kansas City making it 9-4.
Sioux City would tack on a run in the ninth to make it 9-5 and even loaded the bases with 2 outs and brought the tying run to the plate but were unable to tie the game.
With the loss Sioux City falls to 20-7 on the season and now begin a three game series against the Gary SouthShore RailCats. With a 7:10 start on Friday with lefty Alex Gunn going for Gary versus righty Keith Picht for the X's.
