T-Bones Add Mack and Release Rockett

KANSAS CITY, KS - The Kansas City T-Bones announced the signing of outfielder Chantz Mack and the release of outfielder Daniel Rockett.
Mack, who was born in Miami, Florida, was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 29th round of the 2013 MLB Amateur Draft from the University of Miami. He began the season at AA Arkansas in the Texas League where he hit .184 with a homer and 8 RBIs in 29 games.
Mack began his career in 2013 in the Arizona Rookie League with the Mariners before moving up to Short season A ball with the Everett AquaSox. Mack would finish the 2013 season with the Jackson Generals in the Southern League. In 53 games, Mack hit .280 with 26 RBIs combined at all three stops.
In 2014, Mack played with another three teams, the Tacoma Rainiers (AAA), the Clinton LumberKings (A) and the High Desert Mavericks (A+). He spent the majority of 2014 with the Clinton Lumberkings, hitting .282 with eight home runs and 50 RBIs. He finished out the year with the Mavericks, with two home runs and four RBI's in 17 games. Overall in 2014, Mack hit .273 with ten home runs and 54 RBI's.
Mack returned to the LumberKings to start off the 2015 season where he hit .261 with 26 RBIs before finishing off the season with the Bakersfield Blaze (A+) in the California League. He hit .230 with eight home runs and 22 RBIs while with the Blaze. Mack finished the 2015 season averaging .252 with nine home runs and 48 RBIs in 432 at bats.
Much of Mack's 2016 season was spent with the Blaze, however there was a brief stint spent with the Jackson Generals in the middle of the season. While hitting .286 for Bakersfield, Mack managed to contribute 89 RBIs and 14 home runs. In the five games Mack appeared in with the Generals, he averaged .250. He finished off the 2016 season hitting .284.
Mack's final destination before joining the Kansas City T-Bones was in the Texas League with the Arkansas Travelers (AA). In 89 at bats with the Travelers, Mack averaged .184 and contributed eight RBIs.
Rockett, a Sugarland, Texas native, was drafted in 2013 by the Kansas City Royals in the 9th round as the 264th pick overall. Since being drafted by the Royals, Rockett has spent time with five different organizations. Rockett appeared in 14 games for the T-Bones before being released hitting .220 with home run and five RBIs.
"Obviously, I brought Rockett here from New Jersey and got off to a little slow start for us, but Daniel is a very good player and wherever he goes he's going to do very well," manager Joe Calfapietra said. "We had the chance to add a left-handed bat that happened to be an outfielder and we needed to make a roster move. Chantz Mack is now with us and is going to be a good player for us."
Mack made his T-Bones debut Monday night and was a key part of the Kansas City walk of win. He went 3-for-4 with a double and a home run, while scoring two runs and adding a pair of RBIs in the T-Bones 9-8 over Wichita.
