T-Birds Routed In Road Loss To Wizards

BISMARCK, N.D., March 2, 2010 - The Albuquerque Thunderbirds opened the game slowly, scoring just 34 first half points, and were unable to slow down the Dakota Wizards in a 109-81 loss on Tuesday night. The Wizards led from start to finish. Keith McLeod scored 25 points to lead the way for Albuquerque, and Shane Edwards added 21 points and 8 rebounds. The T-Birds have now lost four consecutive games.

Dakota opened the game on a 9-2 run, and pushed the lead to 22 by halftime. The Wizards led by as many as 32 in the fourth quarter before ultimately posting the 28 point victory.

Chad Toppert added 11 points for Albuquerque.

Hasheem Thabeet, the second overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft, led the Wizards with 18 points and 13 rebounds.

Albuquerque shot just 36.1% from the field, compared to 52.9% for Dakota.

The T-Birds will look to bounce back tomorrow when the team once again tangles with the Wizards. Fans can listen to all the action live on 610 The Sports Animal beginning at 6 pm.
