Syracuse Signs Four Players to AHL Contracts

Syracuse, NY (July 27, 2006) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they have signed defenseman Andy Canzanello, right wings Tyler Kolarik, Olivier Labelle and Brent Walton to American Hockey League contracts.

Canzanello, 24, appeared in 65 games with the Crunch last season, recording 10 goals, 15 assists and 94 penalty minutes. A native of Rochester, Minnesota, Canzanello appeared in 153 games with Colorado College (WCHA), prior to turning pro, registering 84 points (15g, 69a) and 168 penalty minutes.

Kolarik, 25, appeared in 67 games with Syracuse last season, tallying 10 goals and 8 assists. He finished third on the team in penalty minutes (145). He attended Harvard (ECAC) from 2000-04, where he combined for 49 goals, 67 assists and 112 penalty minutes in 130 games. A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was originally drafted by Columbus in the fifth round, 150th overall, in the 2000 Entry Draft.

Labelle, 21, spent 2005-06 with Acadie-Bathurst (QMJHL) recording 50 goals, 50 assists and 185 penalty minutes in 67 games. A native of St. Eustache, Quebec, Labelle tallied 111 goals, 136 assists and 534 penalty minutes in 273 career QMJHL games.

Walton, 22, appeared in six games with Syracuse without with recording a point last season. In four seasons with Western Michigan University (CCHA), Walton played in 154 games registering 71 goals, 84 assists and 76 penalty minutes.
